Below you will find the free pattern for the Love You Right Earwarmer!
This week’s free pattern release is the 2nd pattern in the “Back to December” collection! Back to December is a song from Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” album. It is a song that is a heartfelt apology to a former lover where she wishes she could go back to December, undo the breakup, and get the opportunity to “love you right”, hence the name of our earwarmer!

Pattern Notes:
- This pattern is for an advanced beginner.
- I crochet tightly, so you may want to check gauge with a smaller hook first.
- Measurements and gauge are all listed as unblocked.
- Chain 2 does not count as a stitch.
- Earwarmer is worked without turning.
Materials:
- Approx. 126 yards of worsted #4 weight yarn
- Sample used Caron Simply Soft Party, an acrylic yarn with a metallic thread
- US size H8/5.0 mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors

Abbreviations:
- Ch – Chain
- Chsp – Chain space
- St(s) – Stitch(es)
- Sk – Skip
- Fsc – Foundation Single Crochet
- Sc – Single crochet
- Tr – Treble crochet
- YO – Yarn Over
- Puff – (YO, insert hook in stitch and pull up a loop) 3 times. YO, pull through all except last, YO pull through last 2 loops.
- TrV – Treble V St – (Tr, ch 1, Tr) in same st
Measurements:
- This pattern is written for adult size / 22″ head circumference.
- Finished measurements as written are approximately 10.5″w x 3.5″high when folded.
Gauge:
Gauge is 12 stitches x 6 rows = 4″ x 3″ as below.
To make Swatch:
Row 1: Fsc 15. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 2, puff in each st across. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 4 (counts as a Tr), sk 1, *TrV in next, sk 1. Repeat from * across. Tr in last st. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 5 (counts as Tr+ch1), Tr in between last Tr of row 4 and 1st TrV of row 4, sk TrV, *TrV in between next TrVs, sk TrV. Repeat from * across. End with TrV in between last TrV of row 4 and begch4 of row 4. Turn.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in 1st Tr, sc in each ch1sp and in between each TrV across. End with sc in 4th ch of begch5.
Pattern Instructions:
Round 1: Fsc 56. Being careful not to twist, sl st to 1st.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, Puff in same and in each st around. Sl st to 1st puff. 56 puff stitches.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Sl st to 1st sc. 56 sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 5 (counts as Tr ch 1 here and throughout), Tr in same, sk 1, *TrV in next, sk 1. Repeat from * around. Sl st to 4th ch of begch5.
Rnd 5: Ch 5, Tr in space before sl st, sk next TrV, *TrV in between Trs, sk TrV. Repeat from * around. Sl st to 3th ch of begch5.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in 1st ch1sp, sk Tr, *sc in between Trvs, sk tr, sc in ch1sp, sk Tr. Repeat from * around. Switch to C1 during sl st to 1st. 56 sc.
Rnds 7-8: Repeat rounds 2-3. Fasten off.
Optional Cuff:
Row 1: Chain 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each across. 10 sc.
Rows 2- 18: Ch 1, sc in each st across.
Fasten off, and leave a tail for sewing. Wrap your cuff around the earwarmer and whip stitch the ends together.
Weave in all ends. Enjoy your new earwarmer!
