Hi, its me, Emily at Crochet Aweigh! The Jump In Fall Shawl is the perfect triangular Florida Fall shawl as it is still nice and lightweight. It can be worn as a shawl or a scarf. This pattern is considered for an advanced beginner. This is one of my absolute FAVORITE stitch patterns to use and I hope you love it too!
This yarn is Island Sport from Beach Bunny Yarns. This is currently my favorite sport weight wool to use. It is so soft and squishy! As October is National Wool month we are sticking with the theme of using wool yarns from indie dyers for all designs in October. Beach Bunny Yarns is based out of Ormond Beach, FL. They do an amazing job of offering coordinating colors in all their lines. I used Cider and Baja Dunes for this shawl, but below are a few other color ways that would also make for an amazing shawl!

Pattern Notes:
- This shawl begins at its widest, and works towards its more narrow edge.
- When using color 1, try to do your chains loosely so that the shawl has some nice stretch.
- I crochet tight, so you may want to check gauge with a smaller hook first.
- A chain 1 does NOT count as a stitch, but a chain 3 DOES count as a double crochet stitch.
- Not every row is turned afterwards, so be sure to pay attention to where to turn and where not to. This is so the maximum number of stitches are facing the right side
- Right side is the side where the hdc stitches are facing right side out, and the first and third row of the shells are right side facing you.
- The shawl grows a lot during blocking.
Materials:
- Sport Weight (2) yarn: 250 yards of Color 1 and 885 yards of Color 2.
- Sample used Island Sport by Beach Bunny Yarns, a 100% Superwash Merino. Baja Dunes as Color 1, and Cider as Color 2
- US size G/4.00 mm crochet hook
- Soft Tape Measure
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors

Finished Measurements:
Shawl is 54″ wide at the widest point x 42″ long.
Abbreviations:
Ch – Chain
Sl St – Slip Stitch
Sc – Single Crochet
Hdc – Half Double crochet
Dc – Double Crochet
C1 – Color 1
C2 – Color 2
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong Side
Special Stitches
Gauge:
Gauge is the first 5 repeats of the pattern by the first 4 rows = 5″ x 2″ Blocked.
Pattern Instructions:
Row 1: Ch 206, hdc in 2 ch from the hook and across. Fasten off. 205 hdc.
Row 2: With RS facing, attach C2 with sl st to 1 st. Ch 3, (2dc, ch 2, 3dc) into same st, *ch 5, sk 5, shell in next. Repeat from *
across. Turn. 35 shells.
Row 3: Sl st into the 1 3 dc and into 1 ch2sp. (ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc) into same ch2sp. *ch 5, sk to next ch2sp, shell in next ch2sp. Repeat from * across. Turn.
Row 4: Sl st into the 1 3 dc and into 1 ch2sp. (ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc) into same ch2sp. *ch 2, sc over previous ch5sps to “cinch”
them together, ch 2, shell in next ch2sp. Repeat from * across. Fasten off C2. Turn.
Row 5: With C1 and WS facing, attach with sl st to ch2sp of 1 shell. *Ch 5 (loosely), sl st to ch2sp of next shell. Repeat from * across. Turn.
Row 6: Ch 1, Hdc over last st st of previous round into the ch2sp of shell. *Hdc in next 5 ch, hdc over next sl st into ch2sp of next
shell. Repeat from * across. Fasten off C1.
Row 7: With RS facing, count 6 stitches over and attach C2 to 7 hdc. (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) into 7 hdc. *Ch 5, sk 5, shell into next st. Repeat from * across, but leave 6 sts unworked. Turn.
Repeat rows 3-7 until you only have 3 shells left. Repeat rows 3-6 once more.
Weave in all ends & Wet Block. Your Shawl is done!
