Hi, its me, Emily at Crochet Aweigh! The Bus Stop Beret is the 4th pattern in my first ever collection! I have a couple more designs planned using this fast, fun, and easy stitch combo! This pattern collection is loosely inspired by a song from Taylor Swift’s album, folklore. The song that inspired this collection is the first song on the album called “the 1”, which seemed so fitting for my very first collection!

Pattern Notes:
- This is written for an adult sized hat.
- This pattern is for an advanced beginner.
- The hat is worked in the round. You do not turn your work at all.
- Each row is completed with slip stitching to the 1st st.
Materials:
- 1 Skein of Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash, a worsted weight 100% superwash wool. Sample used approximately 193 yards of color cream.
- US Size I9/5.50mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors

Abbreviations:
Ch – Chain
Sl st – Slip Stitch
Chsp – Chain space
Sc – Single crochet
Dc – Double crochet
St(s) – Stitch(es)
Sk – Skip
Fpdc – Front Post Double Crochet
Gauge:
Gauge is the first 5 rows of the pattern = 4″ as shown in the photo.
Pattern:
Ch 4, sl st to form ring
Rnd 1: Ch 2 (doesn’t count as dc here and throughout), 12 dc into ring. Sl st to 1st. 12 dc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc into same st, ch 3, *sc into next st, ch 3. Repeat around. Sl st to 1st sc. 12 sc and 12 ch3 sps.
Rnd 3: Sl st into 1st sp, ch 1, sc in same, ch 3, *sc in next sp, ch 3. Repeat around. Sl st to 1st sc. 12 sc and 12 ch3sps.
Rnd 4: Repeat Rnd 3.
Rnd 5: Ch 2, dc in same, 4dc into each chsp around. Sl st to 1st dc. 50 dc.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in same, ch 4, sk 3, *sc in between next dcs, ch 4. Repeat from * around. Sl st to 1st sc. 16 sc and 16 ch4sps.
Rnd 7: Sl st into 1st sp, ch 1, sc in same, ch 4, *sc in next sp, ch 4. Repeat from * around. Sl st to 1st sc.
Rnd 8: Repeat Rnd 7.
Rnd 9: Ch 2, dc in same, 5dc in each sp around. Sl st to begch3. 81 dc.
Rnd 10: Ch 1, sc in same, ch 5, sk 4, *sc between next dcs, ch 5, sk 4. Repeat from * around. Sl St to 1st sc. 20 ch5sps and 20 sc.
Rnd 11: Sl st into 1st sp, ch 1, sc in same, ch 5, *sc in next chsp, ch 5. Repeat from * around. Sl st to 1st sc.
Rnd 12: Repeat Rnd 11
Rnd 13: Ch 3, 6dc in each chsp around. Sl st to begch3. 121 dc.
Rnd 14: Ch 1, sc in same, ch 5, sk 4, *sc in between next dcs, ch 5, sk 4. Repeat from * around. Sl st to 1st sc. 30 ch5sps, 30 sc.
Rnd 15: Sl st into 1st chsp, ch 1, sc in same, ch 5, *sc in next chsp, ch 5. Repeat from * around. Sl st to 1st sc.
Rnd 16: Repeat Rnd 15.
Rnd 17: Ch 3, 6dc in each ch5sp around. Sl st to begch3. 181 dc.
Decrease & Ribbing:
Rnd 18: Ch 1, sc2tog over the next 2 sts and around. 90 sc.
Rnd 19: Ch 1, sc in 1st two sts, *sc2tog over next 2 sts, sc in next 2 sts. Repeat from * around. Sc in last. Sl st to 1st sc. 68 sc.
Rnd 20: Ch 1, fpdc around each st. Sl st to 1st fpdc.
Rnds 21 – 26: Ch 1, fpdc around each fpdc. Sl st to 1st fpdc.
Rnd 27: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Sl st to 1st sc.
Fasten off & weave in ends. Your Bus Stop Beret is complete!
