This post is Day 4 of the Fall for Crafting Event! This is a blog hop hosted by Yarn Crafts & Coffee, alongside Eye Love Knots and T & C Crafters.
Make sure you are following along with these ladies as we are all working hard to bring you a blog hop once per month!

Personally I love Sunflowers all year round! They were actually my wedding flower for our September wedding a few years ago. Sunflowers have always screamed Fall to me for some reason, so when it was time to pick a theme for this round up, the choice was obvious!
You can read all about my crocheted wedding dress and crocheted bridesmaid dresses if you’d like!
Below is a round up of 10 free sunflower crochet patterns!

1: Crochet Sunflower Crop Top
If you know me, you know I love wearables! This adorable Sunflower Top caught my eye right away! It would be super easy to make it longer as well if crop tops aren’t your vibe. This top is designed by Beautiful Crochet Stuff and is available free on her blog, and for a small fee on Ravelry. The designer used Drops Loves You 8, which is no longer available, but it was a super soft 100% cotton #4 worsted weight yarn. Some alternate options that would work really well are Berroco Modern Cotton, Circulo Yarns Natural Cotton Max Color 4/6, and Juniper Moon Cumulous.

2: Autumn Radiance Sunflower Square
Now this one’s a little abstract, but it is SO pretty! This would make an incredible blanket that would be perfect for cuddling up with around a bonfire and making s’mores on a chilly Autumn night! I love how pretty it in multiple colors, and one color. It has so much texture it would be great either way! This square is designed by Kirsten Holloway and she chose Red Heart Super Saver for her square. I am not a big fan of this yarn, so I would probably choose an acrylic blend like Cascade Yarns Pacific, which is an acrylic/wool blend for a warmer option, or Lion Brand Made with Love The Cotton-y One, which is an acrylic/cotton blend for something a little lighter. This pattern is available free on Kirsten’s Blog or on Ravelry for a small fee.

3: Fall Sunflower Gnome
Gnomes have been all the rage lately so I had to include this cute little guy! This Sunflower Gnome is designed by Winding Road Crochet. She chose Red Heart Super Saver for her yarn, and this is a good choice for this kind of project. An alternate would be Premier Yarns Basix Worsted. You can find this Gnome pattern free on her blog, or for a small fee on Ravelry.

4: Sunflower Scrunchie
Who doesn’t love a cute scrunchie? This one is beginner-friendly and you can use any yarn you want! The designer is Alyssa’s Handmade, and she used Marvel 8ply, which is an acrylic DK #3 weight yarn. Another good choice would be Cascade Yarns Sarasota, which is an acrylic/cotton blend. Find this pattern free on the designer’s blog.

5: Sunflower Cap
This cute hat from Hooked on Homemade Happiness is a hat that I can see wandering the pumpkin patch, or at a farmer’s market on a cool morning! The hat has a unique construction as you make the granny squares first, and then attach and work in decreasing rounds until the crown of the hat is complete! You will need a worsted #4 weight yarn and an H/5.00mm crochet hook. Some yarn recommendations for this one are Cascade Yarns Pacific (acrylic/wool blend), Premier Yarns Basix Worsted (100% acrylic), and Berroco Remix – a tweed blend that screams Fall!

6: Basic Sunflower Pillow
This Basic Sunflower Pillow will have your living room feeling like Autumn in no time! This is a super chunky project that works up fast, and is beginner-friendly. If you meet gauge you will end up with an 18″ x 18″ pillow. The designer is NautiKrall Crochet and she chose Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick N Quick for her pillow. You will also need a size N/9.00mm Crochet hook, and an 18″ pillow insert. Find the pattern free on her blog, or for a small fee on Ravelry.

7: Sunflower Wreath
Of course we can’t forget the front door when it comes to seasonal decor! This Sunflower Wreath designed by my good friend, Alexandra of Eye Love Knots, is just what your door needs for Fall! You will need either a DK #3 weight yarn, or worsted #4 weight yarn to make this project. Some good yarn options would be Red Heart Super Saver, Premier Basix Worsted or Basix DK, or Brava worsted. Find this wreath pattern free on her blog, or for a small fee on Ravelry.

8: Sunflower Coaster
It was hard to choose a coaster to feature for this round up, but I just love the little popcorn stitches in these coasters! These are by Stitch by Fay and the pattern is free on her blog, or available on Ravelry for a small fee. The designer chose Paintbox DK Cotton yarn. By going with DK I think it gives the coasters a more dainty look than worsted would have given. Cotton is also a really great choice because it is so absorbent.

9: Sunflower Granny Square
There are A LOT of sunflower granny square patterns online, but this one caught my eye! It has a vintage look to it, and the leaves are placed so uniquely that I had to include it in this round up! The pattern is free from Granny Square.Me. The designer shares pictures of the squares all made with different size yarn and hooks, but I think this woul be beautfiul with Cascade Yarns Pacific, which is an acrylic/wool blend, but it really does feel like a nice soft wool when you crochet with it!

10: Sunflower Bloom Blanket
We couldn’t conclude this round up without a blanket pattern! This 42 square blanket is designed by Little Brock Crochet and uses Stylecraft DK, a #3 weight 100% acrylic yarn. You will need 5 skeins plus a size G/4.00mm crochet hook to make this blanket.
